A better prompt on top of a chaotic file system and unclear goals gives you better chaos. Sort the basics first — then AI becomes useful.
The evening plan, four steps
- 1. Create one folder
In a place you already back up. Three subfolders inside: context, skills, notes. Plain text or Markdown, so any tool can read it.
- 2. Write your constitution file
One page on who you are, what you are working on, what matters to you and how you want AI to talk to you. Paste it at the start of your next conversation.
- 3. Write two skills
Two jobs you genuinely repeat every week. For each file: what triggers it, the steps in order, what a good result looks like. Ten lines is enough.
- 4. Put a half hour a week in your calendar
Open the constitution, fix what is no longer true, add what the week taught you. This loop is the difference between a living system and an abandoned folder.
